Newly renovated location enhances member experience through face-to-face customer service

Bronx, NY – Affinity Health Plan and the Flushing Business Improvement District are hosting a press conference on Thursday March 9th at 3:30 PM at Affinity Health Plan’s Flushing Community Service Center at 41-46 Main Street to announce a unique partnership that will bring free, small business workshops to the Flushing community. The organizations’ leaders will provide more details during the press conference about the series of entrepreneurship workshops, offered in Chinese, which will be held late March through the beginning of November

Affinity’s Community Engagement Director Kyetah Bryan is excited about this joint endeavor. “Workshops like these that help individuals enhance their lives reflect Affinity Health Plan’s commitment to promoting wellness that encompasses the whole person,” said Ms. Bryan. “We are appreciative of the support of the Downtown Flushing Transit Hub Business Improvement District and of the U.S. Small Business Administration in bringing these entrepreneurship workshops to the Flushing community.”

The Downtown Flushing Transit Hub Business Improvement District (BID) or "Flushing BID" is a not-for-profit organization that was formed in September 2003 by property owners, businesses, residents and community leaders with a stake in the downtown Flushing community. The BID acts as advocate, liaison, promoter, and problem solver for the community, and provides a critical link between NYC government and the neighborhood.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) is the voice for small businesses in the United States and advocates on behalf of 28 million small businesses, jumpstarting and nurturing their ideas. Over the years, the SBA has developed many small business loan and assistance programs, special outreach efforts and initiatives to aid and inform small businesses. Many of the speakers for this Small Business Workshop series are from SBA.
