Corporate Achievements
We are proud of what we have been able to accomplish over the years, and strive continually to fulfill our mission. Our success is evident in various measures of clinical performance, customer satisfaction, Member and community involvement, and reinvestment. Examples include the following.
- We offer innovative outreach and care management programs targeting prenatal and newborn care, asthma, childhood immunization, diabetes, and HIV/AIDS.
- We have we have performed well on almost all standardized clinical performance measures on the State's Quality Assurance Reporting Requirements (QARR). Such measures include lead screening, childhood immunizations, well child visits, cervical cancer screening, breast cancer screening, newborn HIV testing, prenatal care, and mental health services.
- Our annual Member surveys consistently demonstrate high satisfaction levels. Over 90% of our Members report that they are satisfied, think the health plan is as good or better than their previous coverage, and are happy with the care they receive from their primary care provider. Close to 90% report that they would recommend the health plan to family or friends.
- Our Public Affairs Department conducts or sponsors over 100 community events each year. In addition, we sponsor a scholarship program for college-bound high school graduates, reading programs in area public schools, summer recreation programs for area youth, and many similar initiatives.
- We received the 2003 Ellis J. Bonner Community Leadership Award from the American Association of Health Plans (AAHP), for our School Outreach Summit (SOS) Program.
- Since inception in 1987, our Primary Care Reinvestment Program has distributed over $25 million in surplus earnings to primary care contractors to use in expanding and enhancing their service to the community. These funds have been used for a wide variety of projects, including facility construction and renovation, computer systems, patient outreach and education services, state-of-the-art medical equipment, quality improvement programs, and recruitment and retention of qualified clinicians.
