      Happy Nurses Week to real-life superheroes! We recognize the above-and-beyond contributions of nurses, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate and celebrate you!

      The American Nurses Association (ANA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and associated organizations are extending 2020’s Year of the Nurse into 2021. This recognition builds on the increased focus and above-and-beyond contributions of nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday. The ANA has extended its observance from National Nurses Week to Nurses Month.

    • Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

      Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

      May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM), celebrating the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

      This year, Affinity Health Plan joined forces with CAIPA (Coalition of Asian-American IPA) to launch a Community Care Forum in honor of Asian Heritage Month. This will be a digital forum led by Sing Tao Newsgroup featuring videos, articles, and resource information provided by key community organizations, including Charles B Wang Community Health Center, NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital, Maimonides Medical Center, NYC Commission on Human Rights, NYPD Asian Anti-Hate Crime Task Force, Chinese Planning Council, CaringKind, and the Chinese American Family Alliance for Mental Health.
