How much does the program cost?

In general, Medicaid coverage is provided at no cost to the member. However, some services, such as pharmacy, may have a small copayment. A member cannot be denied care or services because of their inability to pay a copayment. A provider has the right to ask for the copayment at each visit and can choose to bill members for any unpaid copayments. Visit the SDOH website to learn more about copayments and copayment exemptions.

The NYSDOH income limits chart below shows the level at which you may qualify for Medicaid. The limit varies depending on the size of your family. Use the eligibility calculator to check if your income falls within the limits for Medicaid. 2020 Medicaid Income Chart
